Last night’s class was really energized. Just like the bunny we produced a lot of stuff and here are some examples. It really does seem to help when you work with other artists. We feed off each other. We inspire each other. We support each other… Very cool! It still amazes me how artists see the same subject so differently. No right or wrong, just each artist’s vision. The figure is very painterly and it’s almost abstract realism. Nice shapes, design and great value and color. This art was done with emotion. I guess that’s kinda what it’s all about… The second image is abstract or not so abstract and is a great example of trying not to do too much with the medium and just getting it started and let it paint itself. Again the biggest cause for failure when using watercolor is trying to do too much! Everyone who looks at this sees something different. This was just a study of using the scraping technique and look at what a great start it is. The third image, “peachy path” is an excellent study using design to lead you into the painting, great value and use of textures and fabulous color. Notice the shadows. The value is perfect and the subtle use of color change is amazing! Well done!!!
